The End is Near!

Ye Olde Poddy

The secret lurks within

The old tank flopper has seen better days.

Removal with Travis!

Everyone needs a toilet buddy.
Erveryone could use a drink.

King Travis nourishes the dogs with his fanciful magic fountain!

And then it was gone!

Pallete Knife was used in the wax ring removal.
Thanks art.

Gross but not forgotten

All new toilets start as boxes and through an ancient alchemical process get turned into ceramic excrement basins.

Placing the poddy

Get it just right onto the new Wax Ring.

Almost there.

King Travis Enthroned!

Installing the new tank.

VICTORY!

Here is the stained vanity, just in time for DEMO!

Just removing the tile, carefully.

Thick concrete lays beneath a ceramic surface.

Here i am carefully removing tile and then re... Oh shit.

I seem to have made a hole in the wall.

All hell has broke loose, I may have passed out.

Oh wait I am jsut removing the facet hardware.
Erica's TURN!

Erica looks hot doing demo,
earplugs and all.

Erica demonstrating the nearly 2 inch thick concrete we are busting out.

Half way there.

Here the Old Sink has been retired to the back yard.

At least it isn't lonley.

Sink GONE! Drywall GONE! ummm... now what?

Lets do some drywall.

See that bandana on my arm? Its acting a tournequet from the sharp lathe that backed the concrete that cut me earlier. Blood and new sinks don't mix!

Measuring out some stuff on the new sink's substraight.

A mini preveiw. we did this often to make sure things would layout right and look good and remind ourselves there is an end to this dark tunnel of remodelling.

I made a hole and the thingy fit in it.

Preveiw! This is basically how it will look. Tile will go on top of the purple board, faucet on top of tile and back and right walls will have tiled backsplashes.

Here is the TILE PRACTICE PROJECT.
A table + Tile = good practice for the sinks top. These tile have been cut on the tile saw in background and are laid out for reference. A simple pattern.

We borrowed the saw and it was a little wonky but I am affectionate to the tile nonetheless.

We put the ooky goop stuff on and then the little crossy things and it even has a wood frame now but we don't have a photo of that. Next we will grout this table and make sure the color of grout we got is right.

Clay spreads good grout.

clay got artsy with the camera. well, he is in art school. what do you expect?

With the table behind us, we think we're ready to get serious. It's time to cut the tile for the sink.

This is when we realized we had no idea what we were doing.

lubing the sink

At least our thinset looks professional.

Shit, no turning back now.

Is this right?

hey, that's not what i thought it would look like...

Somehow, Clay managed to install the new lights without electrocuting himself. That's more than I can say for myself.

we're so creative we decided to paint the bathroom the same color as the rest of the house...

Don't tell Clay - I think we need to repaint.

Behold! the mighty sink is nearly finished.

Grouted, cleaned, and plumbed; this sink is ready for action.
